International Overdose Awareness Day - 8/31
International Overdose Awareness Day - 8/31
This International Overdose Awareness Day, we pause to remember and honor the lives of those lost to overdose. We recognize the families, friends, and communities who continue to carry their memory, and we stand with them.
Today is also an opportunity to learn how to use naloxone, a medication that rapidly reverses an overdose. Learning how to recognize an overdose and carrying naloxone can make a life-saving difference. Take a few moments to familiarize yourself with how to use it. You never know when your knowledge could help someone in need.
Together, we can honor those we've lost by raising awareness, supporting one another, and helping prevent future overdoses.
